Our Pastor
Haven O. Anderson has been the pastor of the Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church since January of 2008. Throughout his 22 years in the ministry, a recurring theme has been - serving a church that goes “beyond the four walls.” It is his feeling that Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church must have a positive and powerful impact on its community, bringing hope and uplifting the people of the community in every way possible.
Pastor Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Livingston College, a Master of Divinity degree from Hood Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
Pastor Anderson is married to Quanda Anderson. Her passion throughout their entire ministry has been her love for Christian Education and her love for people – particularly, children, youth, and teens. First lady Anderson loves serving with her husband and looks forward to the new paths God will lay before them in promoting His Kingdom. He is the father of two adorable children.
Our First Lady
Quanda Bennett-Anderson, is a native Charlottean. She is the proud daughter of Calvin and Linda Bennett and the sister of Aprill Bennett of Charlotte N.C.
She is married to the Rev. Dr. Haven O. Anderson, Pastor of Marvin A.M.E Zion Church in Waxhaw N.C. He is the Love of her Life, and she counts it a privilege and an honor to be his life partner. According to First Lady, “He is a Man after Gods Own Heart”.
Her passion throughout their entire ministry has been her love for Christian Education and her love for people; particularly, children, youth, and teens. Next, is her love for Women. According to First Lady “a woman’s role in the home is vital to the overall wellness of a family”. She uses any venue that she can to empower them all whether it is by showing a woman her innate beauty in God, teaching a child his/her significance, or inspiring someone to continue their education.
Quanda has earned 3 Undergraduate degrees from UNC Charlotte; a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in African American and African Studies, a minor in Political Science, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She has worked for major corporations and organizations such as Allstate Insurance Company, University of Phoenix, and Montreat College. Currently she serves as a board certified Business/Life Coach and is an Independent contractor with Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Quanda loves serving with her husband in the vineyard and looks forward to the new paths God will lay before them in promoting His Kingdom. She is the mother of two adorable children.
